Chimney at Froebelstrasse
In Prenzlauer Berg the “Administrative Office for Citizens” (Bürgeramt / Bezirksamt Pankow Prenzlauer Berg) is located at Fröbelstrasse – a group of old brick buildings, that used to be a hospital. And this red brick chimney used to be part of the hospital too.
The HDR effect is a bit harsh, but – still – i liked the photo somehow. So here it is.
Airport Tegel seen from the Runway
View from the runway towards the airport terminal building. I took this photo shortly after landing in Berlin Tegel TXL.
Taxi Stand at Airport Tegel
The Taxi Stand at Airport Tegel on a cold, but beautiful day in November, not too long time after sunrise. In the center of the photo you see the tower of Tegel Airtport – to the right of the tower you can see the main terminal building.
The photo is a HDR I took with my iPhone4 waiting for my plane to Bonn.
Anhalter Bahnhof facade backside
A view to the backside of the ruin of Anhalter Bahnhof – or actually of the ruin of the facade of Anhalter Bahnhof, since nothing else is left.
Tempodrom, Soccer Field
The Tempodrom in the backlight, with dramatic cloud formations. In the foreground the sports field Anhalter Bahnhof or Lilli-Henoch-Sportplatz located between the Tempodrom and the remains of the Anhalter Bahnhof.
Apples and Grapes in a Box
Another random still life: Apples and grapes in a wooden box. The lighting conditions are far from ideal, but I still like the photo for its colours and fruitiness. And the darkness somehow also suits the picture. I think.
Berlin-Tempelhof Neon Lettering
Berlin Festival 2011, walking between two stages, between two gigs: View from the tarmac to the hangar. The neon lettering Berlin-Tempelhof is reflected in the rain-soaked tarmac – the food court looks a little lost on the huge site. In the foreground, a pink/magenta-lit information tower – spotlights scan the cloudy, hazy sky.
Pears Still Life by Chance
Sometimes it’s like this: you’re in the country side, some celebration in a barn, located in a village that is famous for its pears. An empty table that is about to tranform into a buffet soon – and somebody places a few pears randomly on that table. Suddenly you’re struck by the beauty of the situation – and the photo turns out to be what I would call an accidental still life. Greatness.
Berlin Skyline: Wedding with Clouds
A view from the highrise in Voltastrasse, housing the Deutsche Welle headquarters. In the center of the photo you can see the almost iconic floodlights of Jahnstadion – the football stadium at Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark next to Mauerpark. On the left side you find the satellite dishes, from where Deutsche Welle is broadcasting 24/7.
The photo was taken in HDR with an iPhone4.
Forsmar Nuclear Power Plant, High-Voltage Pylons
The silhouette of the two reactor blocks of the Forsmar nuclear power plant on the horizon – next to them silhouettes of high-voltage pylons, high-voltage power lines. The light on this April day and the UV filters of the SAAB give the picture an eerie mood, which somehow fits my mood quite well.
