Vallila is a rather small, sleepy part of Helsinki.

Vallila (or Puu Vallila) is one of the last remaining wooden house areas of Helsinki. Hidden behind some more or less awful architecture of the seventies and eighties
it is nicely arranged around a little hill, half way between Arabia and Hakaniemi.

When in Helsinki maybe you want to have a look at this neighborhood of ‘traditional’ wooden houses of all sizes and colors, with trees in the backyards – and some rocky hill in the middle of the neighborhood from where you may enjoy a nice view over Vallila.

Ah – yes: you may actually have seen some parts of Vallila in Jim Jarmusch’s movie Night on Earth.

The album Vallila contains 16 pictures.
