View from the Michael Bridge shortly after sunset on a balmy summer Saturday evening to the TV Tower and the Spree River.

Stolpersteine in Auguststraße
Stolpersteine in front of Auguststraße 27 in Berlin Mitte:
Facade of Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, Spree
On the left, part of the imposing façade of the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus. Fortunately, someone is walking along the banks of the Spree – so the dimensions of the façade become clear.
On the right, you can see the Paul Löbe House – or, of course, the part of the façade of the Paul Löbe House facing the Spree, with the Reichstag building behind it.
Reichstag, Spree, Excursion Boat Oranje Nassau
View of the Reichstag building, the Spree and the Oranje Nassau excursion boat passing by.
The Oranje Nassau is Berlin’s first fully electrically powered excursion boat. Although the ship was built in the 1990s, it was converted from diesel propulsion to fully electric propulsion in 2022.
Here is an article or press release about the Oranje Nassau on the press portal pressmare.it:
After the rain: reflection with blue sky
First it rained heavily, then the sun came out. At Arkonaplatz at the intersection of Wolliner Straße / Fürstenberger it looked like this.
Berliner Dom / Friedrichsbrücke
View of Berlin Cathedral and the Friedrichsbrücke bridge as seen from Burgstraße / James-Simon-Park. Part of the colonnades of the Kolonnadenhof can still be seen on the right. On the left in the background you can see two high-rise buildings on Fischerinsel.
Berlin TV-Tower on a misty day in December
The Berlin TV-Tower on a misty day in December, seen from Schönhauser Allee near Senefelder Platz.
Schoolyard in Summer
It’s summer holidays in Berlin – the schoolyard is correspondingly empty. Especially on this late summer evening. Only one bicycle is still in the bicycle stand – in the background the fire walls of a neighbouring house are shining – in the night sky the stars are twinkling.
Pappelpark Money Counter Fountain
The Money Counter ‘Geldzähler’ fountain in the Pappelpark in Berlin Mitte.
TV Tower in the Green
Berlin is a very green city. You can see this again and again if you want to take a picture of the TV tower in early summer, for example. Here the view from the intersection of Veteranenstrasse and Fehrbelliner Strasse across Weinbergspark towards Mitte – or towards the TV tower.
Citroen 2CV Charleston
A Charleston Citroen 2CV at Teutoburger Platz in Berlin Mitte.
Karl-Marx-Allee, TV Tower
POV: Street view from a car driving down Karl-Marx-Allee towards Alexanderplatz: TV Tower, Park Inn Hotel.
Schönhauser Allee / Senefelder Platz
View to the TV-Tower from Schönhauser Allee near Senefelder Platz in Mitte, close to the crossing of Schönhauser Allee X Schwedter Strasse. The Photo was taken on a sunny but cold saturday afternoon in February.
Zionskirche / Zionskirchplatz, Berlin Mitte
The Zion Church on the Zionskirchplatz named after it on a cold but beautiful day in January. Blue sky, white snow, black trees – it’s rare to see Zionskirchplatz so wintry pretty.
The picture is taken from the corner where Griebenowstraße meets Zionskirchplatz. A view of the church, which is probably also rather atypical.
Berlin Mitte: Große Hamburger Strasse / Sophienstraße / Berlin Cathedral
View from from Große Hamburger Strasse corner Sophienstrasse in south direction – on the right side you can see a part of the facade of St. Hedwig Hospital, in the background the dome of the Berlin Cathedral.
TV-Tower from Veteranenstrasse
The Berlin TV-Tower as seen from Veteranenstrasse on a cold but nice day in November 2021.
Crossing Brunnenstrasse / Invalidenstrasse, TV Tower

Autumn leafs by Night
A midnight walk around Mitte lead me to this tree in bright yellow near Rosentaler Platz.
Park Inn – Berlin Mitte
Sunset reflecting on the tower of the Hotel Park Inn as seen from Münzstrasse in Berlin Mitte.
Wall Color
Not all houses are painted equally – some Berlin houses were last time renovated in the early nineties – and now the wall color is showing interesting patterns.
Sunny Berlin Mitte: TV-Tower and S-Bahn
A sunny afternoon in Berlin Mitte – an walk in Dircksenstrasse with a view to the TV-Tower. Blue skies, and an S-Bahn passing by. I would even call it an almost perfect Monday afternoon.
Berlin Winter Night Mist
View from the bridge Jannowitzbrücke towards the TV Tower – last Saturday night – or actually early Sunday morning – in the middle of the night. The TV Tower and the buildings by the water are reflected in the river Spree. Winter in Berlin can be rather dark, when there is neither snow nor ice around.
Strelitzer Strasse TV-Tower
A view down Strelitzer Strasse towards the TV-Tower – in front you can see one of the monuments built along the Berlin Wall,
cobblestone street
If you have ever been to Berlin, you are probably familiar with this view: a rather typical photo of a cobblestone street somewhere in Berlin Mitte. This pattern may look beautiful – but riding your bicycle on this kind of street can be difficult, especially when the streets are wet. Also, cars drivin on cobblestone streets are slightly more noisy – but at least everybody seems to drive a bit mre careful, since the nobody wants to ruin their bumpers.
garden party – chain of lights
Sitting in a friend’s courtyard somewhere in the middle of nowhere – basically right in the center of Berlin Mitte. We were have a very small birthday party with Grill and Beer – Berlin style. Nice.
TV Tower, beautiful skies
View from Schönhauser Allee / Schwedter Strasse down to Mitte – looking towards the TV Tower. On this particular Sunday evening the skies were particularly beautiful, all colors – the sunset coloring the clouds in mellow yellow, orange and light blue.
Please feel free to like to photo over here on instagram.
TV Tower as seen from Brunnenstrasse
Another view to the TV Tower – this time seen from Brunnenstrasse, close to Bernauer Strasse on a sunny summer day in August 2017.
Hazy Bell Tower
The bell tower of Zionskirche in Berlin Mitte on a foggy but sunny day in February. The photo is taken from Swinemünder Strasse near Arkonaplatz. The trees in Swinemünder Strasse have no leafs yet – of course – it’s February. But sunny. And nice.
You can find (and like) the photo on instagram right here.
Berlin Street Art Love
A big LOVE as seen on a wall right next to the rails in Reinhardtstraße in Berlin-Mitte. Berlin loves you. Approved.
The photo may look like a collage, but it is actually only one photo. You can also find it here on my instagram account.
TV Tower in a Distance
The Berlin TV Tower on a cold but beautiful day, as seen from Veteranenstrasse near Zionskirchplatz in Berlin Mitte.
In the foreground you can see a typical East Berlin street lamp and the cables of the Tram hanging above the street crossing of Veteranenstrasse / Fehrbelliner Strasse.
Sunset at Zionskirche Berlin Mitte
A view on the church Zionskirche in Berlin Mitte.

Zionskirche Church in Mitte
Around sunset – view from Kastanienallee / Zionskirchstrasse to the church Zionskirche in Mitte. The silhouette looks great against the yellow, orange and blue skies – the sunset almost looks as if the skies were on fire.
Gendarmenmarkt by Night – Konzerthaus and French Dome
This picture of Gerndarmenmarkt was taken on a beautiful summer night – or late evening. We were basically rushing to a gallery opening at Lindenstrasse – so the photo is a bit wonky. But anyways – i think it caught the moment quite well. It was warm and calm and people were just hanging out on the street, on squares – and even on Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin Mitte. For me this was quite a special occasion.
On the left you can see the Berlin Konzerthaus (“Concert House”) and on the right you see the Französischer Dom (“French Dome”).
French Cathedral / Französischer Dom
A HDR image of the French Cathedral at Gendarmenmarkt as seen from its backside on a sunny day.
In German the French Cathedral is called Französischer Dom – the term is German for “French Cathedral”, but in this case (as also in the case of the Berlin Dome and the German Dome) the term refers to the French word for English “dome” and not to a cathedral. Neither church on Gendarmenmarkt was ever the church of a bishop.
Invalidenstrasse / Brunnenstrasse
The house at the intersection of Brunnenstraße and Invalidenstraße currently looks a little strange / interesting. The formerly three-story building has had its second floor removed. The first floor and the ground floor are apparently being ‘gutted’. The murals / graffiti on the neighboring buildings can still be seen and are strangely detached from the rest of the building.
Berlin-Mitte skyline: Art on the building
Art on building in Berlin-Mitte: A sculpture stands on a roof and waves or greets passers-by.
Two-story houses, green facades, yellow window, sculpture on the roof – Berlin-Mitte skyline near Ackerstrasse / Invalidenstrasse
Ackerstraße, Berlin-Mitte – green yard
Ackerstrasse, between Torstrasse and Invalidenstrasse – The trees belong to a small park, which is actually not a park, but rather a playground and passageway to Bergstrasse.
Winter night at Weinbergspark
A quiet Berlin winter night: lightly sugared trees in Weinbergspark at night.
Crane Installation with Autumn Sky
A crane is being erected on a new construction site on the corner of Invalidenstrasse and Ackerstrasse (Berlin-Mitte) with the help of a mobile crane. Actually, something like this is exciting enough – the scene was given additional drama by the moving autumn sky. In the backlight, the crane ballet becomes a shadow theatre.
Berlin TV Tower in the Sunshine
Lucky again: this year’s Berlin Marathon is again taking place in the best sunshine and summer temperatures. And again a new world record has been set: Kenyan Dennis Kimetto ran the Berlin Marathon course in 2:03 hours.
TV Tower in the Evening Light
View in the direction of the TV tower – in the foreground the glowing S-sign of the Nordbahnhof S-Bahn station. Behind it a few houses on Invalidenstraße. Pink clouds on the horizon – a balmy summer evening in Berlin (Mitte).
What I like most about this picture is how the S-Bahn sign glows in the twilight – oh, and then of course the sunset is reflected on the sphere of the TV tower.
Evening sky Zion Church Zionskirche
The Zion Church ‘Zionskirche’ in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg – evening mood. The picture is taken with an iPhone4 – no HDR image, no photo enhancement app, and no filter were involved – even though it might look like that at first glance. However, this is one of two photos that I actually wanted to assemble into an HDR image. But the light, the sky, and the deep black silhouette of the Zion Church were dramatic enough for me.
Holocaust Memorial, Tiergarten
View to the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin Mitte. In the background you can see the Tiergarten.
Trabant and Streetart
