Berlin Winter - Snow in the Courtyard - Photo: T.Bortels/bilderbook.org
First snow for a while – and in a few hours it will all be gone. But this moment was beautiful and I’m glad I took this picture. The bikes are cowered with a thin layer of snow and just a couple of footsteps are seen – traces of neighbors in the winter wonderland that is our courtyard.
Glad they revently repaired the lights – otherwise I would not have been able to capture this moment. Thank you! and greetings to the caretaker!

Today it’s apple day in the UK – so I take the opportunity to upload some apple photos.
Berlin cobblestone street - Photo: Bilderbook
If you have ever been to Berlin, you are probably familiar with this view: a rather typical photo of a cobblestone street somewhere in Berlin Mitte. This pattern may look beautiful – but riding your bicycle on this kind of street can be difficult, especially when the streets are wet. Also, cars drivin on cobblestone streets are slightly more noisy – but at least everybody seems to drive a bit mre careful, since the nobody wants to ruin their bumpers.
You can also find this image in the stock photo section right here.
The U-Bahn Station Moritzplatz by night, Berlin Kreuzberg.
A photo of more or less typical Berlin cobblestone pavement. In this image you see a rather boring piece of Berlin pavement – usually the pattern of the stones is a bit more inspiring. But maybe this boringness makes this picture special. And what I additionally like about this picture: due to rainy weather the space between the stones is growing moss.
You can find this photo over at the stock photo section.
I just opened another category for the stock images section of Bilderbook: backgrounds. There you’ll find images that are suitable as a background image or background pattern – for websites, but also for print products.
This one almost looks like a flag, although it basically just shows, what in Berlin you would see everywhere: a wall – and some cobble sone pavement. Although – i have to admit that i was amazed how clean this wall looks like. Usually Berlin Walls are covered with Streetart – Graffiti and Tags – this one was probably just painted. So you could for example use this image as a canvas – to add your very own message on the wall – your very own virtual Graffiti.
In case you want to use the image – please feel free to purchase the appropriate license right here. Thank you!
Sitting in a friend’s courtyard somewhere in the middle of nowhere – basically right in the center of Berlin Mitte. We were have a very small birthday party with Grill and Beer – Berlin style. Nice.
View from Schönhauser Allee / Schwedter Strasse down to Mitte – looking towards the TV Tower. On this particular Sunday evening the skies were particularly beautiful, all colors – the sunset coloring the clouds in mellow yellow, orange and light blue.
Please feel free to like to photo over here on instagram.
I Won’t add much to this. I know how it is meant – that you shouln’t not take pictures inside this location – but I somehow find the message much deeper…
Nothing much to see here – just a picture of a beautiful Red Audi Quattro from 1982–1984.
Quite an ‘arty’ statement: “Art is my life …” – but why end the message with three dots? Why not with an exclamation mark?! …we will probably never know, what the original artist intended to say…
A graffiti/tag on the wall of a Berlin bar by an unknown artist.
Blue skies, yellow house, green streetlamp. This streetlamp in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg completely overgrown. Actually in this street near Mauerpark you would find a couple of streetlamps that are more or less overgrown – but this one was the nicest. And the light of the evening sun plays nicely with the yellow facade.
